Boston Center for Adult Education's Goodbye to the Gamble: A Final Toast was held at the Gamble mansion on 12/11. BCAE bid farewell to its home for the past 75 years, and will relocate to a new facility on 122 Arlington Street in March 2009.

In 1998, French fashion designer Anne Fontaine launched her brand in the U.S. with her first shop at the Heritage On The Garden. The Cartier Boutique on Newbury Street hosted its Holiday Party on 12/01. Featuring the famous Cartier Santa Claus bearing jewels from the Cartier Collection in New York, the occasion has become a popular Boston pre-holiday tradition. The Antiques Show Preview Party was held on 11/28 at The Peabody Essex Museum. The event featured dealers from across the United States showcasing silver, furniture, paintings, porcelain, jewelry, and decorative accessories. Proceeds from the Show supported the museum's education programs.
