Everyone’s Crazy About Sex

1212083686Like a lot of people we can’t wait to see the Sex and the City movie. It’s all the heavy drinking, frustration with men, and female bonding we crave, except in a different city and dressed in much nicer clothes. (Speaking of the wardrobe, we’re counting down our favorite Carrie Bradshaw ensembles on Bostonista.)

So we’re pretty excited for the movie. Note that we said excited. Not insane. Some Sex fans have crossed into stark raving lunacy in advance of the movie’s release tomorrow.

From Bostonista: Johnny Cupcakes Ripped at Billabong

1200081890Our charming style guru Bostonista is stirring the pot again, with a report on a very ticked Johnny Earle, owner and founder of the Johnny Cupcakes boutique on Newbury St., who says Billabong ripped off his t-shirt design from 2005.

Says Johnny:

“I thought for some weird reason Billabong had bought a heap of my shirts and were selling it, until I closely looked and saw their logo attached on my design.”

Asked if he would take action, Earle said, “You bet I will!”

The Alpha Omega Memo

Bostonista has obtained a copy of a memo from Alpha Omega detailing the family’s mysterious disappearance, which we reported on yesterday.

It reads:

“Raman has asked me to communicate to you that last week he had taken ill and has traveled to India to seek medical attention and convalesce. We anticipate a quick recovery where upon he will return to operate the day-to-day functions of Alpha Omega Jewelers. He is in daily contact with the corporate office and the managers. During this brief period, please operate in your normal fashion.”

Now we hear that owner Raman Handa has quickly and secretly fled the country, taking with him his entire family — including son Amit and daughter Nidhi, both visible faces for the company — and leaving behind 4 stores, what must be millions of dollars worth of inventory, confused employees, and even the family dog.
